Sizing

Size guide.

All measurements are body measurements in inches and centimetres, not garment measurements. Cut varies by style — an oversized coat is deliberately larger than these numbers.

How to measure

  • Bust / chest — around the fullest part, tape level, arms down.
  • Waist — around the narrowest part of the natural waist.
  • Hip — around the fullest part, roughly 20 cm below the waist.
  • Neck — around the base of the neck, one finger under the tape.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.

Between sizes?

For outerwear and knitwear, size up — both are cut to layer. For tailoring, size to your chest or bust and have the waist taken in locally; that is a cheaper and better result than sizing up. For evening pieces, email us before ordering.

Exact garment measurements

This chart describes bodies, not garments. If you want the flat measurements of a specific piece — length, shoulder, sleeve, hem — email info@westendbd.com and we will measure the actual garment and send you the numbers before you commit to buying.

Alterations and made-to-measure

Tailoring and evening pieces can be made to your own measurements with a four to six week lead time, including one complimentary fitting adjustment. Because they are cut to your specification, made-to-measure pieces cannot be returned — so we confirm every measurement with you in writing first.

Sizes are cut to the measurements above. If a garment you receive differs materially from this chart, that is a fault — contact us and we will cover the return.
