This Privacy Policy explains how WIRECUT INC., trading as WESTEND (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit www.westendbd.com, contact us, or place an order. WIRECUT INC. is the data controller. We operate from Bangladesh and the United States; our addresses are at the foot of this page.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details — name, email address, telephone number if you provide one.
• Order details — delivery and billing address, items ordered, sizing and body measurements where you supply them for made-to-measure.
• Correspondence — the content of enquiries you send us and our replies.
• Marketing preferences — whether you have opted in to email updates.

We do not store full payment card numbers. Card payments are processed by our payment provider, and we receive only a transaction reference and the last four digits.

Information collected automatically

• Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system.
• Usage data — pages viewed, time on page, referring website.

2. Why we use it, and our legal basis

• To fulfil your order — necessary for performance of a contract with you.
• To answer enquiries and provide support — our legitimate interest in running a responsive business.
• To keep records and meet tax, accounting, customs and consumer-law obligations — compliance with a legal obligation in Bangladesh and the United States.
• To send marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To measure and improve the website, including advertising performance — consent, where cookies or similar technologies are used.
• To prevent fraud and secure our systems — our legitimate interest in protecting the business and our customers.

3. Advertising, cookies and similar technologies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and are always on. Where we advertise on third-party platforms — including Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram) — we may use their measurement tools, such as the Meta Pixel or Conversions API, to understand which advertisements lead to visits, enquiries and purchases, and to show relevant advertising to people with similar interests. These tools may set cookies and may share limited event data (for example, that a page was viewed or an enquiry was submitted) with the platform. Contact information shared for advertising measurement is hashed before transmission where the platform supports it.

You can control this in several ways:

4. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who need it to help us operate, and only under contract:

• Payment processors, to take payment and process refunds.
• Courier and logistics partners in Bangladesh and internationally, to deliver your order.
• Customs authorities, where a declaration is legally required for an international shipment.
• Email, hosting and customer-support providers.
• Analytics and advertising platforms, as described in section 3.
• Professional advisers, and public authorities where we are legally required to disclose.

5. International transfers

We operate in Bangladesh and the United States, and some of our service providers operate elsewhere. Placing an order therefore involves transferring your personal information internationally — at minimum between Bangladesh and the country you are ordering from.

Bangladesh has not been the subject of an adequacy decision by the European Commission or the UK government. Where we transfer personal information from the UK, the EEA or another region with transfer restrictions, we rely on standard contractual clauses together with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards. If you would like a copy of the safeguards we use, email us and we will provide it.

6. How long we keep it

• Order, customs and transaction records — retained for the period required by applicable tax, customs and accounting law, typically 6–7 years.
• Enquiry correspondence — up to 24 months after the matter is closed.
• Made-to-measure measurements — up to 24 months, so repeat orders fit, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• Marketing consents — until you withdraw consent, and a suppression record thereafter so we do not contact you again.
• Website analytics — typically up to 26 months.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy.
• Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.
• Receive your information in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
• Opt out of targeted advertising or the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, where those concepts apply to you.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. We limit access to personal information to people who need it to do their job, and we require our providers to maintain appropriate safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email where we hold your address and you have an active order or subscription.
